Vibe Lab·FLOCK

30 birds, no leader

Thirty pixel birds follow three rules: don't crash, match your neighbors' direction, stay with the group. Three tiny rules. One whole flock. Zoom around and watch formations appear out of nowhere.

What it does

Every bird checks its 8 nearest neighbors and averages three vectors: separation (avoid crowds), alignment (match headings), cohesion (head toward center).

In the real world

Craig Reynolds' 1987 Boids algorithm. Same three rules predict starling murmurations, sardine shoals, and traffic-flow physics.

Painted with these colors

Every VibeBoy lab paints with these 16 colors — the same palette PICO-8 made famous. Constraints are what make pixel art feel like pixel art.
