Vibe Lab·CHAOS

Two rods. Total unpredictability.

A pendulum hanging from the end of another pendulum. No friction. Just gravity. Let it go and the motion never repeats. Start two side-by-side with a hairsbreadth difference and within 20 seconds they're swinging in totally different directions. Tap to kick it.

What it does

Four coupled equations (angle + angular velocity for each rod) integrated with Runge-Kutta. A tip-trail shows the last ~2 seconds of motion.

In the real world

The original example of deterministic chaos — sensitive dependence on initial conditions. Same math shows up in weather forecasting, planet orbits over millions of years, and why long-term weather is unpredictable.

Painted with these colors

Every VibeBoy lab paints with these 16 colors — the same palette PICO-8 made famous. Constraints are what make pixel art feel like pixel art.
